Information about Company Liability Insurance (AVB)
Company Limtied Liability is known in the Netherlands as Aansprakelijkheidsverzekering voor Bedrijven (AVB). This type of insurance protects a company or sole trader against the financial ramifications that could arise from damage that’s been caused.
AVB insurance covers all kinds of damage that can be caused by a business, damage to material goods as well as damage to people. Damage caused by employees also falls under this insurance policy.
For damaged caused by actities or persons who do not fit the insured status of the company there is no coverage. If changes are not passed through to the insurance company on time, this could lead to a so-called coverage gap.
The following issues are often covered:
General liability: You are insured if your company is liable for damage to third parties. The damage must have taken place during the exercise of daily work and activities of your company.
Employer liability: As an employer, you are insured for the liability of damage caused by your employees. The damage must have taken place during the exercise of daily work and activities of your company.
Environmental damage: You are insured for the liability of your company when it causes environmental damage that arises suddenly and unexpectedly.
